This was the first trip since his daughter didn't make it through her heart surgery. My friend for years, an Imam at the local mosque, had 4 children. He had become friends over the years with many global(x) participants.

I found a heart problem 4 years ago in his eldest daughter and have walked this journey with him, his daughter and the family all this time. She had several treatments in Amman, Jordan. This was to be the definitive treatment. She had premonitions but her family felt this was their best opportunity for a normal life. She didn't make it. Mom and dad were devastated.

At his behest, here we were, visiting in his home with the memory of the girl fresh on everyone's mind. Many tears were shed. God had orchestrated for all of the key global(x) members who had touched his life over the years to be in the room at the same time. All were expressing their grief, their love for him, his daughter and surviving family.

I played a game with the laughing children on the floor. We ate and drank tea and coffee, shared stories.....and then he allowed me to pray in his home for him and his family.

I continue to pray that he will become a Jesus follower, much harder in his culture and in his current position. Of course, God can do anything. God was there that night in a very palpable way. I felt privileged to be play a small part in what God is doing in this precious family.
