Hola! Hope all is well back in the States with our friends and families! We now have our first two days serving in the village under our belts and it couldn't have been a better experience. In order to help with all the different projects, we split up into teams each morning - a few teams to go to various homes of the community for projects and a group to visit the local school for VBS. Around noon, we take an hour for lunch and a little siesta before all returning to construction projects for the afternoon hours.

Some of the work projects we have helped complete so far are 5 latrines (outdoor toilet systems), 3 pilas (water reservoirs for the homes), and 3 concrete floors for the homes. We have also put some mud up for walls and assisted in building roofs for a couple buildings. Beyond the construction, one of the highlights is to spend time with the people who live in the homes where we work. And that is what makes this whole experience so special - the connection with community and coming alongside our family in God here in Honduras. We definitely couldn't have done it without their help - and they also appreciated and valued our willingness to support the construction projects any way we can.

VBS in the mornings has also been quite the experience. The excitement of all these K-6th graders to see us, play with us, and learn from us brings so much joy to all of us. Their smiles make us smile. Their big hearts make us want to love bigger. We've sung songs, done dances, shared how God loves them, played hours upon hours of games, and given countless hugs to each of these sweet children.

We still have two more days and already know how much we will miss these wonderful Honduran people. Thank you again to all at home who are praying for God's work on this trip. He is definitely present and moving big - in our hearts, in these new friendships, and in the Honduran community. We thank God for all His goodness and love...it's been undeniable in our time here. <3
