About the Journey

Help create bright futures for the next generation in El Salvador as you help the children at La Casa de mi Padre prepare for the new school year, which kicks off in January. 

La Casa de mi Padre has three family homes on their La Finca property just outside San Salvador, where they work to create a Christ-centered family environment of love and acceptance for children who are separated from their biological families. 

Each year, La Casa equips students with the book bags, pencils, pens, notebooks, and folders they need to start the new school year on the right foot. This journey team will invest in the academic future of these young students by creating a memorable and meaningful back-to-school season for them. 

This journey team will serve the children at La Casa by:

• Delivering and organizing school supplies.
• Assisting students with picking out items, covering books, labeling folders, etc.
• Leading games and crafts.
• Sharing meals and downtime with them and their foster families.

There will be plenty of pencils to sharpen and book bags to pack, but the goal of this journey is relational investment in the children and foster families you’ll meet. As you help students prepare for the school year ahead, you’ll be lightening the load on La Casa’s local staff and foster families and having fun alongside children you’ll remember long after you head home.

Before You Apply

• A nonrefundable application fee of $150 per person is due at the time of application and will be applied toward each person's fundraising goal.
• Seat selection or upgrades on flights are OPTIONAL. Some airlines may not assign seats until 7 days before departure; participants who wish to secure a preferred seat in advance may do so at their own expense.
