About the Journey
Come meet, encourage, and have a bit of joyful fun with the children and families served by Hope Partners in the Pavas district of San José, Costa Rica.
This journey team will serve at the local Hope Center, helping with activities like:
Working on school improvement projects that help create beautiful learning spaces for children- Painting classrooms, hallways, murals, and more
- Landscaping and planting flowers
- Leading arts and crafts
- Playing interactive games
- Sharing Bible stories with the kids
While the projects you contribute to will help the community, the goal of this journey is relational investment in the children and families you’ll meet. The Hope Center in Costa Rica facilitates a brighter future for families facing incredibly challenging circumstances in one of the poorest regions in the country. Our mission is to support the local leaders by bringing joy and encouragement to the community.
Once the team’s time at the Hope Center has wrapped up, you will visit La Paz Waterfalls and Rainforest or Punta Leona Beach to enjoy some well-deserved downtime before traveling home.

Before You Apply
- A nonrefundable application fee of $150 per person is due at the time of application and will be applied toward each person's fundraising goal.
- The cost listed is PER PERSON.
- Minors will need a parent or guardian to help complete the Releases section of the application.
- A separate application is needed for each family member who wants to participate.
- Minors under the age of 18 at the time of international travel must submit a notarized parental consent form granting legal permission for them to travel without one or both parents.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Application.
- Tasks will be assigned upon approval. Completion of these tasks is REQUIRED for travel.
- All adults 18 and older will need to complete a background check.
- Cost listed is PER PERSON.
Restrictions
- Valid Passport – Must be valid for at least 6 months after the journey return date.
- Minors under the age of 18 at the time of international travel must submit a notarized parental consent form. This form gives permission for the child to travel internationally without their parents or guardians.

- Participants must be at least 12 years old.
