2022 El Salvador - Adult 2
About the Journey
Through our partnership with La Casa de mi Padre, this global(x) team will head to El Salvador. Just north of the equator in Central America, El Salvador is a land of abundant volcanoes, beautiful mountain top views, black-sand beaches, and tropical rainforests. It’s the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America, and, sadly, it’s greatly overwhelmed by poverty and broken families.
We’re looking to build an engaging, animal-loving team interested in helping with La Casa’s Therapeutic Riding Program. Working with horses in a therapeutic setting provides significant physical and emotional benefits for the children, helping them address issues with fear, anger, trust, self-control, responsibility, and more. This global(x) team will help with the maintenance of their on-site riding rink, build obstacles for lessons, and help facilitate a horse show with the children.
The team will also engage with the families that live on the property and hike through rural areas to visit and deliver meals to families in surrounding villages.
If you have experience with horses, have basic construction and maintenance skills, and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
