2020 eSwatini (Swaziland) Children's Ministry

Opportunity Overview

About the Journey

Through our partnership with Heart for Africa, this global(x) Children’s Ministry team will journey to eSwatini (Swaziland) in southern Africa. As the smallest country in Africa, eSwatini is home to proud natives and majestic mountain ranges that serve as a backdrop for stunning wilderness reserves.

We're excited to build a team that will visit Project Canaan, Heart for Africa's 2,500-acre land development project. To date, Project Canaan is a safe haven for 248 orphans and vulnerable children, and that number continues to grow. The property is also home to staff members and several farming and agricultural projects. The team will train and share our Waumba Land curriculum with local nannies, aunties, and pastors.

The team will fly from Atlanta to Johannesburg and rest for the night at a local hotel. The next morning, team members will travel to the Heart for Africa homestead in eSwatini.

This Children’s Ministry team will include at least one staff member to help lead the training sessions. Other team members do not need prior training, but any experience is a plus! In addition to discussions about how to implement the Waumba Land curriculum, the team will also provide a half-day training session, devotions, and encouragement to roughly thirty community pastors.

Other activities include a tour of the Project Canaan property, which includes a sustainable chicken and egg farm. The team will also visit a home in the community and spend time praying and connecting with the family. Days often include hiking and walking through the farmland. Nights are free of planned activities, so the team has time to interact with the children and the staff.

Sharing Waumba Land’s curriculum is a gift that will change the lives of the pastors and children in this community. If you have a heart for education and want to help impact future generations, apply now!
