About the Journey

La Casa de mi Padre is a Christian children’s home that serves children who have been removed from their families for one of many tragic reasons. It’s there that these children receive counseling, education, life planning, and family support. 

They have an incredible equine therapy program that provides significant physical and emotional benefits for the children who live at La Casa, helping them address fear, anger, trust, self-control, responsibility, and more. 

This global(x) team will head to El Salvador to work alongside the La Casa de mi Padre staff on their Therapeutic Riding Program. You’ll help with the maintenance of their on-site riding rink, build obstacles for lessons, work in the barn, and help facilitate a horse show with the children.

You’ll also engage with the families that live on the property, and hike through rural areas to visit and deliver meals to families in the surrounding villages.

If you have any experience with horses or simply love being around them, have basic construction and maintenance skills (or are willing to learn), and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this is the perfect opportunity to serve with one of our international partners!
