My experience in Costa Rica and Mission for Uganda

Last year I got the amazing opportunity to go on my first mission trip and serve in Costa Rica. I'm extremely grateful for everyone who donated and prayed for that opportunity, thank you for helping me achieve the best experience of my life. While in Costa Rica, we painted and fixed up a classroom at a daycare center, and spent time with kids from less fortunate families. Going into the trip, I was excited to meet the kids, but I had no idea that they'd make such a huge impact on me. I personally spent my time with one specific class of 7-10 year olds and felt God at work there. The age gap between us was big with a language barrier even bigger, but I learned that love has barriers. The relationships I was able to build with those kids are indescribable. They felt like my family. They filled me with love and awe in God's work. They made me want to serve even more and inspired me to go on my second mission trip. This summer I have the opportunity to go to Uganda! After struggling to pick where I wanted to apply and lots of prayers for clarity, I felt an overwhelming push to serve in Uganda. Two weeks before my decision, I thought going to Uganda was too far out of my comfort zone and I thought that I never could. But now, my heart feels that Uganda is where I need to be this summer. We will be working with Champions United FC to help mentors connect with children that do not have a stable figure to look up to in their life. We will engage with the local families, facilitate a camp for kids, and enforce a hygiene curriculum in local schools. I am so excited for this trip and to see how God is going to work this summer. Prayers are highly appreciated. I cannot wait to share my experience!
