About the Journeys

Kenya  | June 4-13, 2020  |  $3,600

Through our partnership with 410 Bridge, this InsideOut team will work alongside the 410 Bridge staff and the community’s local Leadership Council. The Leadership Council consists of pastors and other respected leaders who are well versed in the needs of their community. They’ll ensure the team’s time is spent in the most impactful ways.

The team will also lead and participate in lessons and discussions with Kenyan students about topics like education, social issues, and social pressures. You’ll encourage one another to be leaders and influencers in the community, learn from one another and gain new perspectives. Finally, before heading home, the team will set out on an African safari to experience the beauty of Kenya’s wildlife!

A visa is REQUIRED for entry to Kenya, and is the responsibility of the team member.

Mexico (Monterrey)  |  June 5-11, 2020  |  $2,000

Through our partnership with Back2Back Ministries, this student team will help love and care for orphans and vulnerable children. You’ll work to meet the children’s spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social needs so that they might overcome the cycle of generational poverty.

This student team will help with a mix of projects to improve the physical living conditions in local children’s homes and maybe even in a local family’s home. You’ll also spend time playing with the children and possibly have the opportunity to take them on a field trip for some extra fun!

Guatemala  |  June 6-13, 2020  |  $2,700

Through our partnership with 410 Bridge, this student team will help with a day of Vacation Bible School, play games and sports with the Guatemalan families, help with small construction projects, and visit homes in the community. Working alongside the Guatemalan people is a unique experience. The work you do will certainly help the community, but so will the genuine relational bonding you’ll experience as you learn about everyday life in Guatemala.

Costa Rica 1  |  June 6-13, 2020  |  $2,575

Through our partnership with Openhouse, this team will serve a local school in an impoverished community. You’ll work on improvement projects like painting, renovating, planting, cleaning, and organizing. You’ll also have the opportunity to spend time with the school children and their teachers as the team leads fun activities like arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and interactive games. Teams typically visit a local farmer’s market and attend Sunday services at Openhouse Church.

El Salvador  |  June 13-20, 2020  |  $2,100

Through our partnership with La Casa de mi Padre, this student team will help to restore families by providing a loving family environment for some of the country’s most vulnerable children. Some of the projects the team may take on include painting, landscaping, cleaning, organizing, and any other needs the community may have. You’ll have time to get to know the children and the families that live on the property and hike to visit with and deliver meals to families in the surrounding village.

Mexico (Merida)  |  Rising Seniors  | June 13-20 |  $2,025

Through our partnership with Sowing a Vision, this student team will work with local leaders on at least one large construction project, such as a church or community building. It’s a very physically active trip. Relationally, the team will also have the opportunity to host Vacation Bible School for local children, play games, do arts and crafts, sing songs, and have fun with the kids.

Costa Rica 2  |  June 20-27, 2020  |  $2,575

Through our partnership with Openhouse, this team will serve a local school in an impoverished community. You’ll work on improvement projects like painting, renovating, planting, cleaning, and organizing. You’ll also have the opportunity to spend time with the school children and their teachers as the team leads fun activities like arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and interactive games. Teams typically visit a local farmer’s market and attend Sunday services at Openhouse Church.

Mexico (Mazatlan)  |  June 27 - July 3, 2020  |  $2,000

Through our partnership with Back2Back Ministries, this student team will love and care for orphans and vulnerable children. The team will help with a mix of projects that will improve the physical living conditions in local children’s homes and maybe even in a local family’s home. You’ll spend time playing with the children and possibly have the opportunity to take them on a field trip for some extra fun!

New York (Niagara Falls)  |  Rising Sophomores | June 28 - July 3, 2020  |  $1,330

Through our partnership with YouthWorks, this student team will serve the community in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior centers, and children’s programs. Some of the week’s activities will include painting, cleaning, yard work, and other similar projects. By serving in this capacity, the team will learn about the renewal that happens through neighborhood rehabilitation, children’s programming, and serving those in need.

Uganda  |  June 30 - July 10, 2020  |  $3,600

Through our partnership with Champions United FC soccer group, this student team will set up and facilitate a two-day UpStreet-style camp for local children and help teach a fun, interactive hygiene curriculum at local schools. You can also expect for some fun evening gatherings around a fire pit to top off these rewarding days. Additionally, you’ll visit local kindergartens and primary schools and connect with local families as you visit their homes and serve alongside the Ugandan coaches.

By serving in the community, in the schools, and alongside these coaches, you’ll see how relational  influence can dramatically change the course of someone’s life and why it’s so important to their future.

A visa AND a yellow fever vaccine are REQUIRED for entry to Uganda, and are the responsibility of the team member.

Honduras (Agalta Valley)  |  July 4-11, 2020 |  $2,350

Through our partnership with HOI, this team will head to the Agalta Valley in Honduras. This team will work with HOI to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of the local community. Generally, teams take on construction projects that improve health and sanitation within family homes. They usually include laying cement floors, making wash basins and building latrines. Don’t worry, though. You don’t need any prior construction experience.

The team will also coordinate some interactive relational activities for the local school children and host a Vacation Bible School camp. You’ll play games, tell stories, sing songs, and just have fun connecting with the kids.
